About this session

'A Rabbi and a Holy Rascal' is the title of one of Rami Shapiro's books, and this is what drew our attention to him when we were looking for speakers.

As you will discover from this conversation, the person who gave him this title was spot on in describing Rami.

Although he grew up in the Orthodox Jew faith, his intention was to become a Ph.D Professor of Buddhist Studies. That was until he was encouraged by his Zen Master to go and live in a monastery.

To escape the monastic life, he found himself saying he was going to become a Rabbi. This was as much a surprise to him as it was to those who knew him.

Rabbi Rami brings intelligence, profundity and wit to this conversations in equal measures and leaves you wanting more. Welcome to the eclectic Spiritual life of Rami Shapiro.
